Autonomous robots as a threat and a tool to protect crime victims

This article analyses the role of autonomous robots in the protection of crime victims. It examines their use as abtool for the prevention of crime, emergency response and forensic support. Using examples of crimes committed by autonomous systems and various projects to protect humans from encroachment by machines with artifi cial intelligence, the article demonstrates the risk of proliferation of intelligent cyberphysical systems, but also the potential of the technology to reduce victimization. The article pays particular attention to technical solutions, including threat prediction algorithms, robot rescuers and cybercrime analysis systems. It also emphasizes the legal challenges, such as the lack of international standards of liability for robot actions and the risks of algorithmic bias. Based on the research of Russian and foreign scientists, it is concluded that autonomous robots can become an effective tool for defense, but their introduction requires global cooperation to ensure abbalance between innovation and human rights.
