The author and character categories in B. Ekimov's prose

The paper explores the balance between the categories "narrator - character" in the prose by B. Ekimov. The author's attitude towards the character's world perception and value system is revealed. The typology of characters, whose description is the main literary goal of the writer, is described. Stylistic recourses employed by the author to portray his attitude towards the character are studied.
