Authoritarian tendencies in Russian democracy as a historical tradition

The article deals with the issue of Russian regimes' evolution, beginning with the ancient times. There is an attempt to determine the first seeds of democratic and authoritarian fundamentals as well as historic regularity in the change of political systems. Cyclic character of replacing power regimes is revealed. A particular way of the development of Russian «authoritarian democracy» is shown. An attempt to forecast the main tendencies in the transformation of the current political regime is undertaken.
