The author’s notes and comments of A. S. Pushkin are an important, but poorly studied category of the text poetics. Analysis and interpretation of Pushkin’s notes helps establish intercontextual ties of these works with the key events of Russian history, revealing Pushkin’s true attitude to them. Considering the poet’s high requirements to the interpretation of events, his clear dissatisfaction with obvious gaps in the interpretation of Russian history, we can subtext in his notes that significantly complements the romanticized idea of heroes and events. The commentary in Pushkin’s later works allows us to clarify some facts of Russian social life.
