Azerbaijan and central Asia: revival of great silk road

The article examines the relationship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries in the frame of the revival of the Great Silk Road. The article also considers the role and place of the region of Central Asia and the Caucasus in the process of formation of a new geopolitical reality in the modern period. The author analyzes the basic geopolitical interests of regional and extra-regional countries in the fight for control over a strategically important region, where the main routes of the North-South and East-West transport corridors intersect.
