The biography of the Siberian surgeon Boris Aleksandrovich Albitsky whose 100-th anniversary was celebrated in 2010 is presented. The contribution of B.A. Albitsky into the development of Tomsk and Siberian surgery is reflected. The brief review of his scientific, educational, therapeutic and social activities is given.
