Ballet is not only a type of choreographic art, but also a symbolic form of national culture. The art of ballet in China appeared only in the 20th century, but over several decades its own ballet school was formed, based on the synthesis of Western principles of choreographic art and traditions of Chinese folk dance. The art of Chinese ballet embodies national cultural memory and reflects the most important features of culture. The originality of Chinese ballet is manifested in the selection of plot material, ballet music, choreographic vocabulary, scenography, etc. The art of ballet is a powerful means of communication, through which intercultural interaction between China and Western countries is carried out. Ballet also has intra artistic and intracultural interaction. The synthesis of arts, choreographic styles, and fusion of cultural traditions that has developed in Chinese ballet allows us to say that today it is becoming one of the significant symbols of Chinese national culture, embodying its basic meanings and values.
