The ballet "Giselle" through the prism of three centuries

In this article the author explores the ballet “Giselle” in terms of time. The article deals with a brief history of the appearance of this ballet. The author also draws attention to the most famous performers of Giselle, thanks to which, the ballet, and there at the moment. The article focuses on changing the Performing Arts: rethink, deepen and complement the image of Giselle. The author draws attention to the historical factors that contribute to the emergence of the term “Russian ‘'Giselle”. The paper presents examples of rethinking the classic version of “Giselle” ballet, as an example of creativity of Mats Ek and Boris Eifman.
