Bank of quarantined frozen red blood cells in "Altai regional blood center"

Viral safety control of blood components is a crucial task of modern transfusiology. The experience of using quarantined red blood cells is currently very limited. The article presents an analysis of long-standing experience of Altai Regional Blood Center in quarantine of red blood cells. The patterns of primary and secondary spoilage of the red blood cell-containing hematological components were analyzed. The algorithm of viral safety provision for the use of frozen-thawed-washed red blood cells was developed based on six-month quarantine.
