The banking system of the Russian Federation: challenges and opportunities of its strengthening

The article is presented the analysis of the contemporary banking system of Russia, articulated the most burning needs in this area. The authors are suggested measures to strengthen the banking sector; the impact of such factor as sanctions from the side of the USA and Europe on the banking system of the Russian Federation is clearly shown in the article.
