Barriers to female business development in Russia

The article deals with the dynamics of women's participation in the labour market. The research goal is to study objective conditions of women's employment in 1990-2010. The comparative analysis has shown the continuing trend of supplanting employable women into the low-paid budgetary sphere or the sphere of housekeeping. The process of inclusion of women in the business activity is complicated by a number of economic and sociocultural conditions. The authors believe that the state measures supporting female business activity are necessary.
