Bashkirs’ khanate in XVII-XVIII centuries

This article examines the political structure of the Bashkir society during the period of uprising, when the indigenous population of the Southern Urals had an opportunity to create a Khanate with Kazakh or Kara-Kalpak Chingis (Genghis) Khan. However, the Bashkirs in all such cases rejected the formation of vertical structures, preferring to maintain the traditional type of tribal relations, which are based on the People's Assembly
