Dostoyevsky's F.M. "White nights" in M.V. Dobuzhinsky's illustrations

The article presents an analysis of the interrelation of the novel written by Dostoevsky F.M. and illustrations to it made by Dobuzhinsky M.V.. The work is devoted to little-studied subject which allows to talk about different types of communication such as verbal and visual - when the reader also becomes a spectator, and bright images of Dostoevsky are recorded graphically and get additional meanings. On the other hand, subjective text interpretation in Dobuzhinsky mind becomes universal, it becomes part of the writer's art world.
