Road traffic safety as an important part of the socio-economic development of the country

The article considers the traffic safety as an important socio-economic problem in Russia, the resolution of which is the focus of the federal program “Improvement of the traffic safety in 2013-2020”. The author proves that the implementation of the program will improve the traffic management, the motor road infrastructure, the discipline of the road traffic participants, etc., as well as will reduce the socio-economic and demographic damage of the road accidents and their consequences.
