Unemployment and the unemployed in the Republic of Kalmykia: socioeconomic analysis

Based on the statistical data the article analyses the level and the dynamics of unemployment in the Republic of Kalmykia, the age and educational composition of the unemployed, the structure of the unemployed according to methods and duration of job search. The author believes that inter-regional labour migration and reduction in the number of economically active population (labour force) are the main factors influencing the decline in unemployment in the Republic.
