The article is devoted to the actual problem of employment of the population today. Unemployment leads to poverty, threatens the political, economic and social stability of the state, is a serious problem in Russia, in a number of countries in Asia, America and Europe. Each country has its own reasons for unemployment, its level, consequences and the solution of this problem.
