Waterless tuberous root cleaning by means of vibration

One of the ways to reduce the cost of production is the use of the cheapest, rich in protein, vitamin and protein sappy feed in animal rations. Tuberous roots are an important part of feed rations for animals and poultry. The effectiveness of the mechanization of feed preparation is not limited to the growth of labor productivity. Mechanically processed feed is better absorbed by animals. An increase in their consumption without harming the health of animals primarily depends on such an operation as cleaning them from contamination. The use of machines for dry cleaning of root crops reduces energy and labor costs, and is also cost-effective in comparison with cleaners based on the hydromechanical cleaning principle. The article describes the scheme of interaction of tuberous roots with an oscillating plane. The optimal operating modes of the vibrating working body have been determined. The dependence of the degree of cleaning on the frequency of the repetition of the impact of the root on the surface, the acceleration of the bearing surface and the angle of vibration has been established. Formulae which allow describing the movement process of the material along an oscillating plane during the cleaning process, as well as the results of an experimental study of the dependence of residual pollution on the number of impacts, are given.
