The article analyzes the text of the Proclamation of July 26, 1914, announcing the accession of the Russian Empire in the First World War. Comparison of the final part of the proclamation with biblical texts shows that the symbolism of the proclamation of the 26th of July is based on the semantics of Psalter images, books of Judith, Esther and Isaiah, that is, those Old Testament texts, which tell of the triumph of justice in the fight against the enemies.
