Library and bibliographic projects on social memory and document heritage (on the 30th anniversary of UNESCO's Memory of the World programme)

The paper describes a range of historical bibliographic projects, which ensure documentary heritage registration with the focus on national bibliography. The article also shows UNESCO’s and IFLA’s activities connected with the realisation of Memory of the World programme, dating from 1992 and devoted to conservation of social memory and cultural heritage. PERSIST project, also described in the paper, followed Memory of the World programme in 2012. It aims at providing sustainable access to and reliable preservation of digital information.
