In Bulgarian librarianship, this definition is avoided, and libraries are not considered political objects dependent on the political model of the respective country. The publication emphasises the political meaning of libraries and the need for this meaning to be a leading factor in determining libraries' importance to society. In this regard, various good practices from France are analysed.
