Bifacial tools according to geo-archeological area Darvagchay (South-Eastern Dagestan)

The article presents a collection of two-sided treated early Paleolithic tools from the sites located in the middle reaches of the river Darvagchay. A detailed techno-typological characteristics and description of the tools was given, and also the primary analysis was conducted. On this basis the conclusion is made that the territory to the West of the Caspian sea is a zone of the early Paleolithic industries with bifacial handled tools proliferation. At the same time there are few classic types biface, dominated by partial biface. Technological characteristics of raw materials, as well as different forms of initial billets caused a wide variety of morphological forms and accordingly, the low standardization of these tools.
