The article presents the analysis of sources of literature that report on important milestones in the history of application of biodegradable implants in traumatology and orthopedics. 5 generations are sequentially allocated in the development of biodegradable implants. The results of using each generation of clamps and their critical comprehension are presented.The usage of the biodegraded implants is the perspective direction in development of traumatology and orthopedics which allows to improve qualitatively treatment of patients with orthopaedic pathology.
