The article is the first publication in the last 105 years of biographical data about graduates of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy in 1871. The data contained in each biographical section is uneven in volume: they are based on materials from the manuscript department of the Russian National Library, reference publications, service records, databases, memories. The dictionary contains information about all 70 students who completed the XXIX course (the first graduation since the academic charter of 1869). Among them were professors of academies, teachers of theological seminaries and schools, employees of secular institutions, 21 people were in the priesthood. It is expected that this article will become the beginning for compiling a biographical dictionary of Academy graduates 1871–1918.
