The features of biology and production characteristics of halophilic Cricotopus salinophilus Zinchenko, Makarchenko et Makarchenko, 2009 and Chironomus salinarius Kieffer, 1915 from the salt rivers of Elton Lake basin are investigated for the first time. Experimental data for calculating the specific growth rate of larvae are presented.
