Biodiversity of boreal and hemiboreal forests in Zavolzhie and it’s mapping

We have estimated the floristic and coenotic diversity of Smolensk-Priuralie ecoregion. The floristic diversity estimation is based on the analysis of published data on number of vascular plants species of local floras. The coenotic forest diversity estimation is based on the ecological-morphological vegetation classification, as a result 27 classes of associations and 10 formations of vegetation have been determined. These are represented on the actual vegetation map (scale 1: 1 500 000). The border between boreal and hemi-boreal forests in the East of European Russia has been defined more accurately.
