Biodiversity, characteristics of growth and fruiting of half-sib progeny on the forest plantations of pedunculate oak in the Michurinsk Forest Area

The study focuses on the growth and seed production of half-sib progeny of pedunculate oak. Field studies were conducted in 2020-2021 on a forest seed plantation in Shekhman divisional forestry area (Michurinsk forestry area) of Tambov oblast. This paper presents the results for plants' preservation rate, average biometric indicators of plot 1 (average diameter 15.0 ± 0.48 and average height 7.4 ± 0.14) and plot 2 (average diameter 7.3 ± 0.20 and average height 4.5 ± 0.09), the division of plants into "high-performing" and "low-performing” groups, the seed productivity points for each tree. The differences in growth between plot 1 and the "high-performing” group of plot 2 were due to hydrothermal conditions. The level of the characteristics' variability on the plots according to the S.A. Mamaev grading scale was elevated (21.37%) and average (19.25%) for diameter and low (12.40%) and average (13.45%) for height. Seed productivity of the plots at the age of 14 was low.
