The article analyzes the trends in the development of charity as a manifestation of solidarity in the context of a special military operation. Based on terminological analysis, the author singles out two main components in solidarity: unity and coherence. It is noted that the introduction of this principle into the Constitution of the Russian Federation is not declarative, but has deep historical roots. So, during the First World War, women of different classes together provided charitable assistance to soldiers who were at the front, both through fundraising and helping the families of soldiers. Similarly, at the present stage of development of Russian society, we observe the solidarity of civil society with the state through assistance to both participants in the special operation and refugees from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and Ukraine. The author also points out the traditional features of the Russian people in the form of charity and mercy, which manifested themselves in the new reality.
