Fighting way of 29th separate ski team during offensive operations of Central front

By the beginning of 1943 the Soviet armed forces have achieved major successes. The counter-offensive at Stalingrad dramatically changed strategic situation on the Soviet-German front in favor of the Red Army. In these circumstances, the Supreme Command decided; leveraging the success of the Stalingrad counteroffensive, expand common forward fight from Leningrad to the Caucasus. It was decided to concentrate its efforts on the south-westerly direction, that is, where enemy was applied particularly noticeable damage and where least expected his stubborn resistance.
