The article dwells upon the unique richly decorated Ho-o-no tachi style kodachi sword, used in Japan by aristocracy social layer representatives as a ceremonial weapon. Parts of the mount kit are decorated in luxurious style. Details and parts of the expensive and rich mount of the sword demonstrate us different traditional techniques and methods of sword making and decoration. Both the sword's parts quality and artistic level of its decoration are among the highest. This sword has certain artistic value. Metal parts were made of copper and brass and richly gold-plated. Such items were produced during XVIII-XIX centuries. From the middle of XIX century such swords were produced as ceremonial and have been used as gifts for temples and highest officials. Mount kit is now a part of the private collection in Rostov (Russian Federation).
