Russia and Spain in the struggle against terrorism: a comparative analysis

The article deals with activities of Basque (Spain) and Chechen (Russia) terrorist organizations on 21st century borderline, and marks that forms and methods they use in many cases are the same or similar. The attention is paid to exposition of new features, which contributed to raise terrorism to a qualitatively new level - the level of international terrorism. On the concrete cases, the author shows the way these features reveal themselves in the activities of Basque and Chechen terrorists who actually act as national vanguards of international terrorism. Detailed consideration is paid to well known in the world practice methods of fighting against terrorism. The article contains concrete examples showing the place these methods occupy in political practice and in the activities of law enforcement agencies of both countries.
