The article is devoted to the history of the long-term active struggle of the rectors, teachers, and students of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy for the return of its historical building. This struggle began in 1992 and was accompanied by various dramatic moments. Only in 2013, after a persistent twenty-year struggle, the believers of the “northern capital” of Russia managed to achieve a long-awaited victory - the St. Petersburg Academy obtained back its historical building, in which a whole galaxy of saints, outstanding church figures, famous theologians and holy martyrs studied and worked. However, the problem of restoration of the building is still relevant. The article is prepared on the basis of a significant set of documents not previously introduced into scientific circulation in the 1990s-2010s. The work is intended for researchers, believers, as well as all readers interested in church history.
