BRICS as an alternative to the collective West and a key driver of a multipolar world

The article analyzes the current state of the BRICS, its main directions, and development prospects necessary for the sustainable position and establishment of competitiveness of developing countries. Key aspects of the New Development Bank were highlighted, along with the creation based on it of a new international currency for settlements among member countries. A comparative analysis was conducted between the BRICS countries and the G7. The unions share many similarities but also have numerous differences and contradictions. The research results vividly demonstrate that BRICS countries have experienced high growth rates in recent years due to the establishment of trade and economic relations within the union.
