The British conception on counteraction of new states formation

The paper makes an attempt to formulate some aspects of the British conception on countering the formation of new states. The author systematizes a complex of measures taken by a counteracting state in respect of a target state to prevent separation and subsequent independence of a part of its territory. The author traces the practical implementation of these measures in the UK's policy in respect of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and verifies how its theoretical theses correspond to the facts.
