The recent excavations at Dzhantukh, which is an Early Iron Age burial ground located in southeastern Abkhazia, have yielded a rich collection of bronze zoomorphic and ornitomorphic figurines. With the exception of several earlier items, the greater part of this collection can be dated within the 5th-3rd centuries BC. Koban-Colchian types common for a large area of the Caucasus; predominantly Colchian types which are not numerous; and local Dzhantukh types that have no direct analogies have been singled out.
