In the article the statements of his Holiness of Dalai Lama the XIVth on the theory of compassion and universal responsibility are analyzed, published by him in many books, but the author’s attention is paid to the relatively small, but rather popular brochure among the Buddhists-laity. On the basis of Dalai Lama’s statements the author attempts to analyze the perception of these theories by the Mongolian peoples. In the article the author emphasizes that the Mongolian peoples at concrete stages of Buddhism perception were fairly prepared to adapt the highlights of Buddhist religious traditions in the structure of their religious culture. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact Buddhism not only unilaterally incorporated many religious practices of the Mongolian peoples, but the Mongolian pre-Buddhist religious culture to some extent also transformed the classical concepts of the Buddhist theory and practice according to their own traditional world perception and world outlook.
