The Buddhist canon in the context of the development and transformation of the ethno-cultural history of the Mongolian peoples

In the article the author analyzes the Buddhist categories and symbols which organically entered the ethno-cultural religious traditions of the Mongolian people. The unique potential opportunities of the Buddhist theory and practice to interact with the traditional religious cultures of ethnic groups and the ability of the Buddhist theory to incorporate local and regional ethnic religious traditions are also analyzed in the article. The author analyzes the phenomenon when Buddhism, acting as the dominating religious culture, influence without wounding on many ethnic dignities of the traditional religious culture. The adaptation of the innovative system of Buddhist culture is also considered in the article. The author argues that ethnic groups that settled in this region were ready to apprehend and fix a new religious system within in their ethno-cultural symbols. So now the Buddhist culture is associated with their ethno-cultural identity.
