During the Great Patriotic War, the ideological component of the Soviet political system changed significantly. Forced by initial failures demonstrative reliance on Russian military traditions, the proclamation of national combat continuity has become a significant innovation in working with public consciousness. Thus, the Stalinist regime demonstrated prompt and successful adaptation to the biggest challenges in history. The authors examine the post-war fate of the military historical heritage at the level of political work in the Soviet Army. At the highest level, military-historical research and extensive source work were initiated. The plans of political events in military formations and the actual content of the training material of officer training are analyzed. The authors provide the rhetorical reflection of post-war social processes at the national higher school, using the example of the orders of the Irkutsk mining and metallurgical Institute on the occasion of the anniversary of the creation of the Red army on February 23 and the day of artillery on November 19.
