“future mandatory” in prophetic texts of Ivan Peresvetov

This article discusses the issues referred to the formation of the image of the future in order to influence the reader of the ancient texts of the 16th century, discussing the problems of the relations between the authorities and the society. The writer Ivan Peresvetov in his texts, such as “Big and Small petitions”, “Legend of Magmet Saltan”, acts as a prophet and a teacher, responsible for the future of Orthodox Russia. The contexts of the Story of the capture of Constantinople and the story “On the causes of the fall of kingdoms” are involved for comparison. The author comes to the conclusion about the integrity of the system of grammatical and semantic means of forming the image of the future for the impact on the king and other readers.
