Future of Russia: foreign version

The present paper focuses on the parameter of cognitive-discursive model of Russian future - domestic policy. The material for the analysis is exploratory forecasts made by authors of political texts in British and American mass media (2000-2011). The basic parameter “domestic policy”, in its turn, can be divided into subsets (factors most frequently addressed in mass media when referring to the image of Russian future): politico-economic situation, population, natural resources, and armed forces. The paper presents a scenario which is meant for further conceptual analysis of the model. It also gives a detailed description of the basic component and its subsets, and analyses linguistic means used to create the image of Russian future: both “grim” and “bright”.
