Regicide of March 11, 1801: insiders or outsiders?

The article deals with the preparation and implementation of the cabal and regicide on March 11,1801. Special attention is paid to the organization of a conspiracy, its reasons, as well as foreign (England's) participation in the cabal against Paul I. The author discusses what internal reasons motivated representatives of the Russian aristocracy to organize the conspiracy. It is concluded that the British Ambassador was aware of the conspiracy, but he was neither the organizer, nor encourager, England merely funded the conspirators.
