Purposes of punishment in legal exercises of retriebutivism and utilitarism of the XVIII-XIX centuries

Аnnotation: The article is devoted to the consideration of the goals of criminal punishment in terms of absolute and utilitarian theories. The author has taken for analysis a separate period of existence of theories of the purposes of punishment in terms of their content. The author considers the points of view of representatives of scientists of the above theories, on the basis of which the conclusion is drawn on the origin of modern purposes of criminal punishment provided for by the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
