Value of material things and daily practices of dealing with them under the war-time conditions

On the evidence of different sources concerned the problem the present work raises a question about peculiarities of material things perception during the war years. In this article an attempt is made to characterize routine treatments of things in the given period. The author highlights the changes which were brought by extreme war experience and analyzes different phenomena of war-time life such as: trophy rush, acquaintance with material goods and consumer culture abroad the USSR. The article gives the broad concept of dynamic changes in the evaluation of material things in the context of individual biography.
