Value orientations in the aspect of gender identity of students

The article considers the problematic area of the study of value orientations and gender identity in the “young students” social group highlighting the important aspects of the value orientations’ manifestation. The concepts of “value” and “value orientations” have been analyzed from the philosophical and psychological viewpoints. Highlighted are the contradictions between the scientific views and approaches to the study of the problem of students’ gender values and value orientations. Presented are the results of an empirical study into the degree of life meaningfulness, the factors of assessing both sexes’ value orientations; the assessment of value orientations of both sexes conducted at Sevastopol State University and Nakhimov Naval Academy in 2020. It is concluded that when reflecting life as a whole, the indicators of both sexes differ insignificantly, but each gender focuses on a specific factor showing some differences in the views of male and female students on the meaningfulness of their role in life.
