«Center or province?» regional discussion in Siberian press in 1870-1880th

The article places and analyzes the material of all-Russian polemics about the role and place of province press and the response of Siberian press to it in the end of XIXth century. It allows to appraise the contribution of Siberian journalists into understanding of development processes in the local press. It offers the review of the main publications in the article and discovers the aspects of problem field formation in the regional concept of press.
