The paper presents the first experience in the history of the region in studying the transformation of the social and professional structure of society and the formation of the regional Soviet elite using the example of the Central City Cemetery of Syktyvkar as the main Soviet necropolis of the Komi Republic, a place of concentrated cultural and historical memory of the region. The factors and features of the formation of the social and socio-professional structure of society in the Soviet period are revealed. The well-known representatives of the main classes, groups and strata of the regional Soviet elite of the Komi ASSR buried in the main necropolis of the region are listed and characterized.
