Te partial restoration of ecclesiastical publications in the 1940's and their particularities

Tis article is focused on the partial restoration of the ecclesiastical press in the 1940's. Difficulties encountered by church publishers are evaluated. Te initial stage of the activities of the Publishing Commitee led by Metropolitan Nicholas (Yarushevich) is examined. Particularities of the first publications are analyzed. Te author pays special atention to identifying the differences between the issues of the Zhurnal Moskovskoy Patriarkhii (Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate) published in the 1940's and the earlier issues from 1931-1935. Te patriotic tone of the journal during the years of World War Two is identified. Te most active staff members of the journal's board are listed
