Private ownership of land: the experience of agrarian reforms in Russian and the countries of Eastern Europe

Бесплатный доступ

The author examines the Stolypins agrarian reform of the beginning of the XX century and attempts to introduce private ownership of land in Russia. The agrarian reforms on the post-socialist countries of Eastern Europe and Russia in 1990-s, similar to Stolypins one, lead to a dramatic drop in the agricultural industry. Thus introduction of private property of land alone guarantees neither modernisation nor rise in the efficiency of production.
