Article reviews the problem of interdisciplinary connections between history and sociology in case of the history of private collecting in Russia. The main purpose of this research, based on the views of P. Bourdieu, is the reveal of the social spaces of private collecting, and, specifically, the answer on the question: does the social field of collecting exist or the case shows nothing but practice included in various other fields: political, artistic, scientific etc.?
