"Chelyabinsk model": some features of Soviet intellectual migration in the mid-twentieth century

Using the example of the city of Chelyabinsk, the article attempts to analyze some of the features of the phenomenon of Soviet intellectual migration in the middle of the 20th century. The author focuses on the biographies of a number of the first heads of Chelyabinsk higher educational institutions and heads of some large industrial enterprises created in the pre-war years and during the Great Patriotic War in the Southern Urals, which make it possible to understand the specifics of the formation of the main streams of intellectual migration passing through Chelyabinsk in wartime... The author of the article pays special attention to the compilation of social portraits of heads of universities and large industrial enterprises, which make it possible to analyze more deeply the processes of the formation of the intellectual elite of Chelyabinsk not only in the war, but also in the first post-war years.
