Six strains of anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria have been isolated from different aquatic environments of the Samara region: Thiocystis violaceae KZE 01/07 (Chromatiaceae: Proteobacteria); Rhodomicrobium vannielii GL 02/04 and Rhodopseudomonas palustris GL 01/04 (Rhizobiales: Proteobacteria); Chlorobium limicola SBG 18/05, Chlorobium sp. SBG 10/08 and Chlorobium cf. luteolum SOLE 01/07 (Chlorobiaceae: Chlorobi). Brief characteristics of properties of isolated strains and ecological conditions of the origin water objects are given in the paper.
